Why YOU Should Take A Break From Facebook
Posted July 25 2012
Get home. Check Facebook. Go to school. Check Facebook. Send text. Check Facebook. It seems like for most of us, checking Facebook has become some sort of habit that we can't stop. It's addicting. You want to know what your friends are up to, who has pictures of what, and who is in a new relationship. What about real life? Have you caught yourself thinking, “I actually don't really know these people”? Instead of wasting your time away on Facebook, why don't you try quitting your Facebook for a while. Gasp! I know, I said it. I said take a break from Facebook. You might be wondering, why would I ever do something like that? Here are some great reasons to take a break from Facebook. 1 You need some privacy. You might want to just have your space for a little bit. Facebook is notorious for spreading news like wildfire, if you are in a place where you just need to keep your business to yourself, you might want to think about disconnecting from Facebook for a little bit. It will give you peace of mind that not everybody that you know will know everything that's going on in your life.
2 Be personal. It might be extremely easy to send your friend a chat, or a text, but why not actually connect with them on a personal level? Take the time to call them up, set up a lunch or dinner date and actually talk to them. You will be able to find out what is actually going on with them rather than hearing about it through the Facebook grapevine.
3 Time sucker. Have you ever noticed how time seems to fly when you are on Facebook? If you want to stop wasting your time on Facebook, why not deactivate your account and start spending time on the things that matter? You'll feel more productive, and you will get a lot more done.
4 I didn't need to know that! One reason that you might want to get off Facebook is that you really don't need to know about what your friends think about something. Often times, people just give way too much information, and it can get annoying. I mean, you don't really need to know about how your friend's kitten made the cutest sound today. You have better things to do!
Facebook is something that I think I can't live without, but sometimes, I want to get rid of it. If you need to take a break from Facebook, hopefully these 4 things will give you a good enough reason to close Facebook, step away from the computer, and take a breath of fresh air. Aaaaah. Isn't that nice?
